Location: United States; Chicago, IL or New York, NY. In-person work in the office at least four days per week is required.

Salary: $31.51–$34.37 per hour for applicants in Colorado, Jersey City, and New York City.

What you will do

• Support the evaluation and underwriting of risks across traditional and renewable energy, power generation, mining, petrochemicals, and related industries.
• Review underwriting submissions, operational information, financial data, and loss history to support risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
• Collaborate with underwriters, risk engineers, claims professionals, and multinational specialists on tailored insurance solutions.
• Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewal opportunities.
• Monitor industry, regulatory, and emerging risk trends affecting clients and underwriting decisions.
• Develop technical knowledge of energy insurance along with analytical, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree expected no later than June 2028; an unofficial transcript is required with the application.
• Availability for the complete nine-week program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
• Availability to work in the office at least four days per week.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for a professional environment.
• Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Major in Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Interest in the energy industry, commercial insurance, risk management, or complex operational and technical risks.
