AI Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota campus; hybrid arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Associates within a 90-minute commutable distance are expected to work from the office three days each week.

Estimated base pay: $72,000–$134,000 per year.

What you will do

• Champion the selection, evaluation, and lifecycle management of enterprise AI platforms, frameworks, and tools.
• Advise delivery teams on AI platform architecture, including model lifecycle tooling, containerization, orchestration, vector databases, prompt management, RAG frameworks, and model hosting.
• Run experiments and proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging AI services, foundation models, and developer tooling.
• Guide teams in reusing approved enterprise AI patterns and develop scalable reference architectures and standards.
• Partner with Enterprise Technology and platform teams to improve security, compliance, cost efficiency, resilience, and developer experience.
• Support platform safeguards, governance controls, and guidelines for responsible and adaptable AI use.

Requirements

• Strong technical experience across AI, ML, and cloud platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, with AWS strongly preferred.
• Experience deploying, integrating, or supporting production AI/ML systems, including MLOps pipelines, model hosting, and monitoring.
• Understanding of modern AI stacks, including APIs, foundation models, vector databases, orchestration tools, and RAG patterns.
• Experience with enterprise architecture, platform engineering, or MLOps functions.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Background in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with AI security, governance, and responsible AI considerations.
