Manager, Battery Systems Validation & Performance

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; on-site five days a week. Domestic relocation is available. Travel of up to 20% is expected.

Salary: $147,760–$221,640 per year.

What you will do

• Lead battery system performance, verification, and validation strategy across the battery product portfolio.
• Develop validation plans, test strategies, acceptance criteria, and traceability processes from requirements through final acceptance.
• Direct performance analysis, competitive benchmarking, and data-driven decisions covering battery architecture, thermal management, charging, serviceability, and lifecycle expectations.
• Govern validation execution across internal and external test facilities, suppliers, and contract manufacturing partners for new technology introduction and new product introduction programs.
• Develop validation standards, testing infrastructure, automation, data management, reporting, and continuous-improvement processes.
• Lead and develop validation, test, and performance engineers while partnering with engineering, product, compliance, and supplier teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive decision-making, critical-thinking, communication, technical-excellence, and people-management experience.
• Experience leading battery test, validation, performance, or compliance organizations.
• Knowledge of systems engineering and V-model development practices.
• Experience with external battery suppliers, third-party test laboratories, and battery validation programs.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with marine, rail, mining, construction, or industrial electrification products.
• Experience supporting DNV, UL, IEC, CE, and UN38.3 certifications.
• Experience developing validation standards, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities.
• Experience integrating simulation, testing, and field learning into product-development decisions.
