Circle Lead Engineer (CLE) - Personal Insurance (Python/JavaScript/TypeScript/React): Leading the design, development, and implementation of complex technical product solutions across Personal Insurance Technology with an accent on solution architecture, technical integrations, engineering standards, and team leadership. Focus on solving cross-team engineering challenges, building resilient systems, mentoring technical leaders, and integrating AI/GenAI solutions.
Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States
Annual base salary: $153,700–$253,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do
- Lead the technical product solutions within the Personal Insurance Technology circle and ensure they are well bounded and composable.
- Guide Team Lead Engineers and collaborate with circle leadership on technical direction, objectives, and KPIs.
- Define solution architectures and technical designs while maintaining clear boundaries across teams.
- Oversee software quality, non-functional requirements, engineering standards, estimation, and increment planning.
- Own technical interdependencies and interaction models across systems within the circle.
- Mentor and coach engineering leaders, solve technical roadblocks, and foster continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 7+ years of programming and software development experience, including 7 additional years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of technical leadership experience and a track record of guiding multiple teams simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Expertise with AWS CDK, Terraform, and Jenkins.
- Strong experience in API development, GitHub, AI/GenAI integration, software delivery, communication, and resilient architecture.
