Test Lab Tech III (Furniture Testing)

What you will do

• Conduct mechanical strength, durability, and safety tests on furniture products and components.
• Perform testing according to ANSI/BIFMA, ASTM, ISO, UL, BS, EN, federal, and global regulatory requirements.
• Analyze results, prepare detailed reports, and provide findings to product development and engineering teams.
• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and improve laboratory testing equipment and methodologies.
• Create, fabricate, and restore testing fixtures to support ISO 17025 requirements.
• Train Test Lab Technician I–II staff and collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and product development teams.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field and 2–4 years of testing or quality assurance experience, preferably in furniture or manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
• Experience or training in PLC programming using Ladder Logic.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and material properties.
• Proficiency with standard laboratory equipment and software for data recording and analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite in or near Dayton, Tennessee.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring or teaching others.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in test equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis software.
