SH&E Specialist (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Franklin, Louisiana, United States; fully onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Analyze and distribute health and safety management information, prepare management reports, and recommend improvements to safety programs.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, workplace hazards, and complaints, then recommend corrective improvements to processes, procedures, equipment, and design.
• Conduct employee and contractor safety training, emergency preparedness activities, quality assurance programs, and SH&E audits.
• Interpret regulations, monitor pending requirements, provide technical advice, and maintain knowledge of government agency standards.
• Support plant managers, employees, internal committees, and cross-functional teams in achieving corporate SH&E goals.
• Help implement and maintain the Responsible Care Management System in accordance with RC14001 requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of related experience in areas such as industrial hygiene management, confined-space training, OSHA regulations, logistics, or heavy machinery.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing, construction, or refinery environments.
• Experience communicating safety incidents, investigation findings, and corrective actions to employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, plus data management, reporting, analysis, planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and technical capability in a relevant SH&E specialty.
