Senior Product Development Engineer (m/f/*) (New Joint Venture)

Location: Skelmersdale, West Lancashire, United Kingdom; office-based. Full remote work is not available. Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus using advanced materials, engineering analysis, and validation.
• Collaborate with global colleagues and project teams to meet durability and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain effective communication with project staff and project owners.
• Support product development for safety equipment within the planned new joint venture.
• Travel domestically and internationally for up to 10% of working time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, completed and verified before starting.
• Professional experience in mechanical design and development in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Ability to work at the Skelmersdale office; relocation is not authorized.
• Commitment to environmental health and safety policies and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Experience designing plastic components, including injection-moulded parts.
• Experience designing metal-formed components, including sheet-metal and machined parts.
• Experience with 3D solid modelling tools such as Inventor and design analysis tools including FEA, CFD, or Moldflow.
• Experience working with global new product development teams.
