Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; onsite
Salary: $60 per hour; actual base pay may vary based on experience, expertise, location, certifications, business needs, and skills.

What you will do
- Develop sourcing plans and strategies for assigned categories and key spend areas.
- Evaluate, develop, and qualify suppliers, materials, and subcontracted processing services.
- Manage critical direct-source vendor relationships and monitor supplier capacity and risk.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts while driving year-over-year productivity, quality, service, and cost improvements.
- Support engineering development programs by sourcing prototype materials and expediting critical purchases.
- Execute direct-material purchase orders and protect production schedules by managing supply-risk and allocated components.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, preferably in business or a technical discipline.
- 2–5+ years of applied experience as a Senior Buyer with category responsibility, ideally managing $5M+ in annual spend.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, commodity and category management, supplier evaluation, and competitive bidding.
- Background in operations and supply chain within a product manufacturing environment.
- Experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and external supply partners on new products and continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiation, communication, organization, analytical, and process-management skills; proficiency with Excel, ERP, and MRP tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with LEAN, Kaizen, 5S, or Six Sigma.
- Experience in a growing and scaling production environment.
