Manager, Automation Engineering

Location: On-site at 101 Sohler Dr, Mankato, Minnesota, United States; approximately 10% travel required. The role is embedded at the assigned facility, including a job trailer during site development.

Salary: $90,000–$180,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Own site implementation and launch execution for an automated warehouse facility.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, quality, and operational readiness.
• Coordinate Operations, construction partners, Global Tech, automation vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Review engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Learn and support automation systems, warehouse operations, building systems, and site workflows.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, track punch-list items, communicate progress, and drive accountability through launch.

Requirements

• Experience in engineering, technical project management, automation engineering, industrial engineering, operations engineering, supply chain, or a related operational environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience without the degree.
• Strong project planning, coordination, execution, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced industrial and warehouse environments.
• Comfort and willingness to work on-site at an active industrial facility, including during startup and launch activities.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Experience with automated warehouses, industrial, manufacturing, or logistics facilities.
• Exposure to automation systems, material handling equipment, or warehouse operations.
• Experience with large-scale facility launches, startup operations, project management tools, CAD drawings, or engineering coordination processes.
• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering.
