Lead - Closed Block Business

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota campus; hybrid work with three office days each week for associates within a 90-minute commuting distance.

Salary: $116,600–$217,300 annual base pay for the P5 level. The P4 level has an estimated base salary range of $91,700–$169,600.

What you will do

• Own strategic relationships with third-party administrators, reinsurers, consultants, and other external service providers.
• Coordinate the closed block business across actuarial, finance, technology, legal, compliance, distribution, and operations stakeholders.
• Lead the closed block finance and accounting team and oversee financial reporting, forecasting, expense management, audits, and financial analysis.
• Establish governance forums, communication structures, performance measures, controls, and escalation pathways.
• Monitor partner performance against service-level agreements and contractual obligations, proactively resolving issues.
• Lead strategic initiatives and operational transitions that improve effectiveness, reduce complexity, and strengthen the steady-state operating model.

Requirements

• Experience owning outcomes in complex, cross-functional environments and leading through influence without direct authority.
• Experience building trusted partnerships with external vendors or third-party service providers.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and issue-resolution skills.
• Finance or accounting background, preferably including financial reporting, controls, and analysis.
• Ability to work in the required hybrid arrangement at the Saint Paul campus when within commuting distance.
• Experience level may align with either P4 Business Operations Senior Consultant or P5 Business Operations Consulting Director.

Nice to have

• Experience with reinsurance, third-party administration, or closed block business.
• Familiarity with life insurance and annuity products.
• Experience supporting regulatory requests, audits, governance frameworks, M&A integration, or large-scale operational transitions.
