What you will do

• Observe and work with the WKRG-TV and wkrg.com Digital Content Team.
• Write and edit content for a news website and broadcast scripts using professional formats.
• Apply search engine optimization techniques to digital articles.
• Select and design graphics for publication with WKRG.com articles.
• Develop live streaming, video editing, video acquisition, natural sound, and interview skills.
• Meet fast-changing journalism deadlines under the supervision of the station intern supervisor.

Requirements

• Current student in journalism, social media, communication arts, digital marketing, or a similar field.
• Basic working knowledge of AP style and standards for text articles and broadcast scripts.
• Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing assignments, and work at a fast pace.
• Availability to participate in an in-person internship in Mobile, Alabama, from approximately August 10 through December 18, 2026.
• Students who need academic credit must obtain and complete the required forms; priority consideration is given to those students.

Nice to have

• Experience with timeline-based video editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
• Experience capturing video, natural sound, and interviews with a phone or camera.
