Location: Chicago, IL; Irvine, CA; Overland Park, KS; Omaha, NE; or St. Louis, MO

Salary: $78,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and analyze railroad structures, including bridges, retaining walls, and shoring.
• Perform moderate design tasks and lead design review activities.
• Prepare project documents, markups, and engineering specifications.
• Conduct research and investigations for conventional rail infrastructure projects.
• Work independently, apply engineering judgment, and address project concerns before client escalation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing according to the AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.
• Proficiency with standard office applications and electronic communication.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Basic oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Mathcad proficiency.
• Experience producing drawings with CAD software.
• Spanish language skills.
