Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (Data Center)

What you will do

• Provide technical support to staff and data center customers, including response to backup power equipment outages and network issues.
• Write pre-functional checklists, functional test scripts, process documentation, and event logs.
• Review technical designs, submittals, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
• Verify and report contractor progress.
• Lead and coordinate functional testing, document findings, and support the commissioning of redundant data center systems.
• Advise on equipment procurement and track developments in data center technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience performing data center testing services.
• In-depth knowledge of data center environments and extensive experience installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, teamwork, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to respond to network and power equipment errors after hours.
• Willingness to travel.

Nice to have

• Certified Data Center Sustainability Professional, LEED AP, or CCP certification.
• Experience with Building Automation and Monitoring Systems, humidifiers, variable refrigerant flow systems, computer room air conditioners or handlers, and evaporators.
