Professional Assistant/Associate Professor – Department of Mathematics

Location: Main campus in Stephenville, Texas, United States. The role may include teaching at other campus locations or through approved instructional modalities.

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings in mathematics for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop syllabi, select instructional materials, and design exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and use learning outcomes to improve instruction and curricula.
• Use active learning, innovative teaching methods, technology, and pedagogical approaches to support engagement and critical thinking.
• Provide office-hour support, academic guidance, and mentoring to students.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on course coordination, program development, committees, recruitment, and faculty mentoring.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university.
• At least 18 graduate hours with a MATH or STAT prefix.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of disciplinary subject matter sufficient for graduate-level instruction.
• Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track faculty appointment.
• Work is generally scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, or according to teaching and operational requirements.
• Summer appointment depends on institutional need and available funding.
