What you will do
- Organize and preserve WKRG-TV's 70-plus-year collection of local news coverage and programs.
- Dub and transfer ¾-inch, Beta, 1-inch, and 2-inch videotapes, 16mm film, and still images.
- Log archival assets and create data templates in the archive management system.
- Apply best practices to improve the accessibility and use of historical audio-visual materials.
- Meet regularly with journalists and other staff to report project progress.
- Identify engaging archive materials for news stories, specials, documentaries, and other programs.
Requirements
- Experience or training in handling, inspecting, transferring, inventorying, cataloging, and preserving photographs, film, videotapes, or other audio-visual materials.
- Understanding of material tagging and metadata entry and management.
- Ability to participate in person in Mobile, Alabama.
- Students requiring academic credit receive priority consideration and must complete the required institutional forms.
- Reliable personal transportation is required.
