Operator Grade 3-1 (Electrical Systems)

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma; must reside within 35 roadway miles and 40 radius miles of the Energy Control Center at 6878 E BA Frontage Rd, Tulsa, OK 74145

Salary: $42.56–$57.14 per hour, depending on classification and experience.

What you will do

• Safely dispatch distribution customer outages to multiple field personnel.
• Prioritize routine and emergency work for internal and external customers.
• Operate distribution applications during routine and emergency switching procedures.
• Communicate clear instructions through radio, telephone, and written application systems.
• Analyze outage data, document restoration activities, and update mapping systems.
• Support team safety meetings, team members, training, and progression to higher operator classifications.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience in line, substation, generation, or DDC support departments.
• Good safety record and knowledge of electrical safety procedures and the AEP Accident Prevention Manual.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure, work effectively with others, and respond to business needs.
• Computer literacy, ability to learn new programs, satisfactory hearing, and ability to identify line colors.
• Availability for day, evening, midnight, weekend, and holiday shifts, with frequent planned, holdover, and call-out overtime.
• Recommended results on the HireVue Dispatcher Worker Virtual Job Tryout and successful completion of required company training and testing.
