TL;DR
KBI: US - Maintenance Technician II (Biopharma Facilities): Installing, operating, maintaining, and modifying site systems and process equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with an accent on 24/7 facilities operations, corrective and preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Focus on repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, documenting maintenance in CMMS, and supporting root-cause investigations and CAPA activities.
Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States; onsite, Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m. on the third shift

What you will do
- Install, operate, maintain, modify, and repair site systems, facilities, utilities, and process equipment.
- Perform and document corrective and preventive maintenance using the CMMS.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits, including motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, and water systems.
- Follow standard operating procedures, work plans, and safe work practices.
- Recommend improvements to existing and new maintenance methods and assist with system failure root-cause investigations.
- Prepare maintenance, quality, deviation, CAPA, change-control, and SOP documentation as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with vocational or hands-on training, plus 10 years of general maintenance mechanic experience in manufacturing; alternatively, an associate degree in Mechanical/Utilities Technology or a Licensed Journeyman qualification with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience with general utility systems, boilers, electrical systems, HVAC, and refrigeration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercise judgment, and solve complex maintenance issues.
- Ability to climb ladders and steps and lift small equipment and tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS; Blue Mountain experience is ideal.
- Experience using mechanical tools, handheld meters, alignment tools, predictive maintenance tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
Nice to have
- Universal CFC Refrigerant License.
- Experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
