Chemical Technician Specialist (Chemistry and Materials Testing): Executing laboratory testing and technical programs for technical service, research, product development, manufacturing, and commercialization with an accent on materials characterization, standardized testing methods, and laboratory equipment operation. Focus on analyzing test data, troubleshooting and calibrating instrumentation, leading technical projects, improving laboratory workflows, and supporting customer-facing evaluations.
Location: Advanced Technology Center, The Woodlands, Texas, United States; on-site laboratory environment.

What you will do
- Plan, prioritize, and execute laboratory testing programs and technical projects.
- Prepare samples and perform physical, chemical, mechanical, thermal, rheological, electrical, and materials characterization testing.
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate results through reports, summaries, and presentations.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and qualify laboratory equipment.
- Lead assigned projects, improve laboratory methods and workflows, and provide technical recommendations.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams while supporting customer evaluations, demonstrations, field trials, and technical inquiries.
Requirements
- Unrestricted right to work for in the United States.
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, or a related technical field; relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- 7+ years of experience in laboratory testing, product development support, technical service, manufacturing support, or related chemical industry roles.
- Experience with ASTM, ISO, customer-specific, and other standardized testing methods.
- Proficiency operating laboratory equipment, analyzing data, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and laboratory safety skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, laboratory information systems, and data management tools.
Nice to have
- Additional education or specialized training in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with thermoset polymers, composites, adhesives, coatings, or electrical insulation materials.
- Experience leading projects, improving laboratory processes, or training and mentoring laboratory personnel.
