Transportation Manager (Supply Chain)

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; travel to organizational facilities, sales centers, and distribution centers is required.

Salary: $88,800–$115,500 annually

What you will do

• Lead transportation RFPs and RFQs, including scope development, bid events, carrier evaluation, awards, and implementation.
• Develop strategic relationships with carriers supporting domestic US transportation and imports from Canada and Mexico.
• Lead the transportation team in planning and executing shipments while managing carrier cost, capacity, and service performance.
• Manage 3PL and carrier contracts, KPIs, performance reviews, onboarding, compliance, and vendor transitions.
• Optimize OTM functionality, reporting KPIs, team responsibilities, and carrier EDI setups.
• Partner with Finance to resolve freight billing discrepancies, manage month-end reporting, and process carrier invoices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• At least 5 years of varied experience managing transportation and/or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage P&L results.
• Experience with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related business tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels, plan and deliver goals with limited supervision, and coach team members.
• Ability to travel to facilities, sales centers, and distribution centers within the organization.
