TL;DR
Corrosion Technician (Pipeline Integrity) (Gas Pipelines): Designing, installing, operating, and maintaining cathodic protection and internal corrosion control facilities with an accent on pipeline integrity, corrosion testing, and regulatory compliance. Focus on troubleshooting rectifiers, evaluating coatings and corrosion data, implementing mitigation measures, and supporting PHMSA inspections and field projects.
Location: Onsite at TGP Gas Compressor Station 47, West Monroe, Louisiana. Monday through Friday, with periodic overtime, overnight travel, emergency callouts, and travel for training and construction projects.

What you will do
- Provide technical support for corrosion control and pipeline integrity across the region or system.
- Design, install, operate, and maintain cathodic protection systems, power lines, galvanic anodes, and internal corrosion control facilities.
- Conduct pipe-to-soil surveys, rectifier readings, interference testing, electrical isolation checks, corrosion tests, and facility measurements.
- Monitor pipeline condition using inspections, corrosion coupons, in-line tool data, and contractor activities.
- Evaluate coatings and atmospheric corrosion, develop mitigation plans, and oversee corrective measures.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, bid documents, project reports, compliance documentation, and participate in PHMSA inspections.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two to four years of relevant experience, with job level determined by skills and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers.
- Ability to operate corrosion instrumentation, chemical injection and pressure access equipment, and standard computer systems.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts outside regular business hours, work with minimal supervision, and complete documentation accurately.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, climb elevated platforms and ladders, work in low-light areas, and lift heavy loads when required.
Nice to have
- One to three years of pipeline experience.
- Two-year technical degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or equivalent education.
- NACE / AMPP certification such as CP1 or CIP1 and higher.
- Experience with CPDM, AC and DC electrical systems, NEC corrosion requirements, and NACE / AMPP standards.
- Training or experience across internal, external, and atmospheric corrosion control.
