Traveling Safety Representative (HDD / Open Cut Pipeline) (Pipeline Construction): Overseeing safety compliance for HDD, open-cut pipeline, and underground utility construction projects with an accent on OSHA compliance, hazard assessment, and field safety leadership. Location: Remote, with extensive travel throughout the United States, including overnight travel and extended assignments lasting several weeks.

What you will do
- Monitor HDD and open-cut pipeline construction activities for safety compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and equipment and vehicle inspections.
- Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-task planning, emergency drills, and incident investigations.
- Coach employees and subcontractors on safe work practices, PPE use, and health and safety requirements.
- Partner with operations and field supervision to identify and mitigate hazardous working conditions.
- Maintain safety documentation and serve as the primary on-site contact for safety concerns.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of safety experience in pipeline construction, HDD, or open-cut operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and PHMSA pipeline safety standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trenching, trench shoring, excavation, and confined-space safety practices.
- Experience conducting trenching, excavation, and confined-space incident investigations.
- OSHA 500 certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical demands of field work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Nice to have
- OSHA 30 Construction, First Aid/CPR Instructor, HAZWOPER, CHST, ASP, or CSP certification.
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency.
