Annual compensation: $610,000–$750,000, commensurate with experience, academic accomplishments, leadership background, and internal equity.

What you will do
- Provide strategic leadership for the thoracic surgery division’s clinical, educational, research, and faculty development missions.
- Expand clinical programs and regional access to thoracic and esophageal disease care.
- Strengthen multidisciplinary programs and partnerships across cancer care, pulmonary medicine, oncology, radiology, pathology, and related specialties.
- Recruit exceptional faculty and develop a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team.
- Advance translational and clinical research, including thoracic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, clinical trials, and novel therapies.
- Lead resident education, curriculum innovation, faculty development, and mentorship within the ACGME-accredited Thoracic Surgery Residency.
Requirements
- Accomplished academic thoracic surgeon with demonstrated success in clinical program development and leadership.
- Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery.
- Eligible for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level at Tufts University School of Medicine.
- Proven record of mentoring faculty, trainees, and future leaders.
- Collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills, integrity, emotional intelligence, and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
