Suspension PD Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, United States. Hybrid work; candidates within commuting distance of a hirify.global hub may be required to work onsite four or more days per week, with additional onsite support at manufacturing facilities and supplier locations.

Salary: $65,100–$166,200 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and release cost-, weight-, and functionally efficient suspension components and systems.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers on sourcing, technical reviews, production quality, and supplier process visits.
• Manage program milestones, design changes, functional and durability issues, documentation, and production readiness.
• Apply DFMEA, PFMEA, requirements, design rules, engineering specifications, DVP&R, drawings, control plans, and SCCAF.
• Guide component and system validation, review test loads and results, and lead technical and management design reviews.
• Work with chassis, vehicle engineering, manufacturing, plant, and vehicle evaluation teams through pre-production, launch, and warranty support.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering.
• At least 6 months of engineering experience, including internships and coursework.
• Hands-on experience with CAD, release processes, sourcing processes, test requests, and documenting evidence for requirements and design rules.
• Demonstrated technical understanding, leadership, teamwork, prioritization, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated experience with supplier management, launch, and global program delivery.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of design and release experience.
• Suspension experience.
• Experience in chassis systems engineering, vehicle integration, manufacturing, or vehicle engineering.
