What you will do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounts for the UK insurance company and business units under IFRS and applicable regulatory standards.
- Produce and review management accounts and statutory reporting outputs for accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Manage audit deliverables, respond to auditor queries, and support the resolution of audit issues.
- Own and improve financial processes, documentation, and internal controls.
- Implement reporting process and system improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to finance projects while supporting month-end, quarter-end, and audit cycles.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounts, and tight close cycles.
- Experience managing audit deliverables and working independently with auditors.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work with complex data and evolving processes.
- Fluent business-level English, strong attention to detail, ownership, organisation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Nice to have
- Insurance industry experience, ideally with exposure to IFRS 17.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud financial modules.
- Exposure to Power BI or other data visualisation and reporting tools.
- Experience improving Excel automation and efficiency.
