Application Engineer (Medical Devices)

Company

Manufacturing medical devices, including implants and instruments, through complex CNC machining operations.

What you will do

• Program CNC equipment across multiple sites for milling, turning, grinding, multi-spindle, multi-axis, and Swiss-style medical-device production.
• Analyze drawings, design models, and sketches to define cuts, tooling, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Develop new processes and support design-for-manufacturing activities with internal and external teams.
• Revise and standardize legacy programs, eliminate errors, and implement improved machining methods and technology.
• Coordinate with Quality Engineering on process control plans, manufacturing inspection plans, gauging, and fixturing requirements.
• Create first-piece and in-process inspection plans and design fixtures for post-processing operations.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of CNC programming experience in medical-device manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of NC code, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software; SolidWorks and Esprit are preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Effective communication and logical reasoning skills for solving complex manufacturing problems.
