Software Engineer II (.NET, AWS) (AI)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Salary: $120,400–$198,700 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, configure, test, debug, troubleshoot, document, and implement software systems.
• Define technical requirements and consult with users on hardware, software, and system specifications.
• Monitor system health, configure alerting, and manage interactions with technical support areas.
• Analyze and resolve advanced defects and incidents, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Lead project initiatives, coordinate team resources, and deliver solutions in small batches.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• More than five years of programming or software development experience, including four additional years of software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with .NET and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, event-driven design, microservices, and AI tools such as Claude.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, delivery, and intermediate leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently on well-scoped and loosely scoped problems while mentoring team members.
