Application Engineer (Welding)

Location: Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA; approximately 50% domestic travel required.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical resource for the field sales force and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.
• Support the sales team with demonstrations, solution validation, product positioning, and responses to RFIs and RFPs.
• Provide technical support for filler-metal applications, classifications, troubleshooting, tested orders, and military approvals.
• Lead technical discussions with NAVSEA, military contractors, and nuclear-industry customers to identify opportunities and develop qualified solutions.
• Support new product introductions, product development, testing, quality activities, and agency audits with R&D, factories, and quality teams.
• Maintain account and project records and provide design and specification support to consultants, integrators, and distributors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in welding or metallurgical engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred, with proven technical abilities in welding processes.
• Technical competence in SAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding for general fabrication.
• Experience qualifying welding procedures to AWS D1.1 or D1.5 and/or ASME codes, including writing PQRs and WPSs.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints and understand basic electrical and mechanical control systems.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and AutoCAD.
