Communications and Social Media Specialist

Location: Hybrid role based in an office in Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, or Corpus Christi, Texas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Rogers, Arkansas; or Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina. Up to 40% remote work is available.

What you will do

• Develop feature articles and news stories about projects, people, and technical topics.
• Interview technical staff, corporate leaders, and clients to create content.
• Serve as the primary administrator of social media platforms, especially LinkedIn.
• Manage the publishing calendar and coordinate messaging with internal stakeholders.
• Lead social media training for technical staff and corporate leaders.
• Monitor platform analytics, track data, and contribute to performance reports.

Requirements

• 6+ years of communications experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and management tools, particularly LinkedIn account administration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Strong initiative, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.
• Experience in B2B or consulting marketing and communications.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar visual design software.
• Professional certification such as CPSM or APR.
• Membership in a professional organization such as SMPS or PRSA.
