TL;DR

Location: Mostly remote with occasional travel to Manchester, UK

Salary: £7,000–£9,000 per month (day rate £350–450)

What you will do

• Develop and optimize commercial Java applications using Kafka, Spring, Apache Spark, and GCP.
• Influence technical decisions and resolve challenges from stakeholders.
• Uphold and promote best practices as a Senior Engineer (e.g., TDD, SOLID, XP).
• Guide and support junior and mid-level engineers.
• Write effective documentation and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Solid commercial Java development experience.
• Expertise in Kafka, Spring framework, Apache Spark, and GCP.
• Commercial experience working with agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to deal with stakeholders and influence technical decisions.
• Strong understanding and ownership of Senior Engineer best practices (TDD, SOLID, XP).
• Experience in guiding and supporting junior and mid-level engineers.
• Must be able to travel occasionally to Manchester, UK.
