TL;DR

Senior Research Scientist (Language AI): Designing and deploying state-of-the-art AI models for translation, large-scale model alignment, or multi-modal voice processing with an accent on the entire model lifecycle from data to deployment and training neural networks at scale. Focus on advancing the mathematical understanding of neural networks, ensuring reproducibility, and integrating research into robust infrastructure.

Location: Hybrid work is required, with team members coming into the office twice a week in Munich, Berlin, Cologne, or London.

What you will do

• Design and deploy state-of-the-art AI models for translation, large-scale model alignment (RLHF/RLAIF), or multi-modal voice processing.
• Train neural networks at scale on hirify.global’s dedicated GPU clusters, optimizing for low-latency production environments.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of research: from theoretical modeling and prototyping to production deployment.
• Collaborate with ML Platform, HPC, and DevOps teams to integrate research into a robust infrastructure.
• Lead research initiatives that improve the mathematical understanding of neural networks, ensuring reproducibility.
• Participate in shared on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of global AI services (specific to Voice/Production teams).

Requirements

• English: High proficiency required.
• Solid mathematical background with a PhD, Master’s, or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Deep practical experience in Python and at least one modern framework (PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow).
• History of leading self-directed research projects that deliver tangible results, including academic publications.
• Specialized experience in large-scale LLM post-training/alignment (RLHF, RLAIF, RLVR), Neural Machine Translation (NMT), or Voice/Audio modalities (ASR, TTS, or Speech-to-Speech).
• Hybrid work: Must be able to come into the office twice a week in Munich, Berlin, Cologne, or London.
