Software Development Engineer (Python)

TL;DR

Junior Software Development Engineer (Python): Developing, maintaining, and supporting database tooling projects for Postgres High Availability and Backup technologies with an accent on open-source contributions and feature development. Focus on integrating new Postgres features, resolving customer issues, and enhancing test automation via CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Must be based in Brazil (100% Remote)

What you will do

• Develop new features for Postgres backup and High Availability technologies.
• Contribute to open-source communities like Barman and Patroni by responding to questions, reviewing code, and adding features.
• Collaborate with a global development team to define schedules and meet delivery dates for new releases.
• Work with the Postgres Global Development Group team to incorporate support for new features into infrastructure projects.
• Support world-class support teams in resolving customer issues and providing product training.
• Write unit and integration tests for new features and bug fixes, and help grow test automation.

Requirements

• Familiarity with the PostgreSQL open-source database.
• Professional development experience with Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• English: B2+ required.

Nice to have

• Experience working in an open-source environment.
• Knowledge of C and hacking Postgres code.
• Experience with Golang programming language.
• Experience with Github Actions or other pipeline technologies.
