Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer (C, SQL): Designing, developing, and maintaining simple to complex software components using hirify.global's software development processes. Focus on delivering high-quality software, documentation, and training to meet customer requirements while ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Location: 100% remote anywhere in the US

What you will do

• Develop software using hirify.global’s software development processes and tools.
• Participate in design and code reviews to eliminate errors early in the development process.
• Estimate small to moderate programming jobs.
• Take proactive actions to prevent customer issues.
• Participate in technical presentations to colleagues, customers, and partners.
• Participate in problem determination and debugging of software product issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with the following programming languages: C, CL and SQL.
• Ability to analyze simple to moderate programming problems and create algorithms and programming solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of IBM system i.
• Knowledge of High Availability concepts and hirify.global IBM i High Availability products.
• IBM i programming experience.
• IBM DB2 knowledge.
• Java and CL knowledge a plus.
• Ability to effectively program for IBM i performance critical applications.
