TL;DR

Environment Artist (Game Development): Designing and developing expansive, immersive maps for multiplayer first-person shooters with an accent on prototyping, content planning, and maintaining quality standards. Focus on recreating reference art into 3D worlds, optimising modular sets, and cross-team collaboration within a historical game series.

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must be located in a European timezone (+/- 2hr CET).

Salary: €3,000–€3,400 per month

hirify.global is a fully remote company developing historical video games with a focus on authentic details and compelling gameplay.

What you will do

  • Create immersive environments and expansive maps, including set dressing of POIs.
  • Work with level design to prototype designs and plan level content, optimising modular sets.
  • Maintain quality and technical standards for environments, ensuring optimisation.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Art Director, level designers, and 3D/Prop Artists.
  • Innovate, develop, and share tools and workflows to improve visual quality and optimise processes.

Requirements

  • Strong artistic skills: interpreting reference, sense of scale, and an eye for color and materials.
  • Proficient 3D skills: creating accurate blockout models, converting to modular sets, high to lowpoly workflow, UVing, baking, and texturing.
  • Full understanding of modelling to create high-quality architecture and organic models, including working with trimsheets.
  • Game engine experience: understanding of importing, setting up assets, and using tools for set dressing and landscapes.
  • Experience with fully remote work: self-motivated and collaborative mindset required.

Nice to have

  • Affinity for World War One and passionate gamer.
  • Experience with SVN.
  • Experience with Unity 6, HDRP pipeline, lighting, shaders, artistic tools, sculpting, and creating materials.
