Automation Engineer (Marine Industry)

What you will do

• Ensure automation designs comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Participate in FAT testing and handle feedback from on-site debugging.
• Support and train testing teams on product operation logic.
• Deliver tasks timely to internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate and coordinate with project teams, classification authorities, and suppliers.
• Investigate next-generation core automation platforms and review code blocks.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Qingdao, China
• Master's or bachelor's degree in electrical or automation engineering or similar.
• Experience with electrical components, instruments, sensors, and control systems.
• Proficient in designing medium and large-scale PLC control systems and text-based programming languages such as SCL.
• Programming experience with PLC (Siemens, Mitsubishi, B&R) and HMI (Siemens, B&R, Beijer).
• Good English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

Nice to have

• Experience with boiler systems and/or exhaust gas cleaning systems for the marine industry.
• Knowledge of marine/shipbuilding industry standards and marine class requirements.
