Engineer II (React)

TL;DR

Engineer II (React): Building complex web applications for a sell-side advertising platform with an accent on user interfaces, APIs, and real-time distributed systems. Focus on using the latest JavaScript frameworks, collaborative development, and writing well-tested, performant code.

Location: Hybrid schedule in Los Angeles, CA (Mondays and Fridays remote, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office).

Salary: $115,000 - $135,000 base in CA, plus annual variable bonus and company equity.

• Build complex web applications using the latest tooling and JavaScript frameworks, including React, Redux, and TypeScript.
• Work collaboratively with engineers across multiple teams to deliver high-quality software.

Requirements

• Strong JavaScript expertise and 3+ years of experience working as an engineer.
• Strong understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Previous work with React or another modern web application framework.
• Experience shipping complex and well-tested UIs.
• Be an effective communicator and have experience writing code in a team setting using source control software like Git/Github.
• Be excited to learn from and teach other engineers, and believe in and practice continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed/remote teams.
• Experience deploying web apps via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Travis, etc.).
• Experience with typed JavaScript (TypeScript/Flow).
• Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with contemporary JavaScript web/build tools (NPM/Yarn, Babel, Webpack/Rollup, etc.).
• Experience with SCSS, Sass, or Less.
• Experience with React Component Libraries like Ant Design, Material UI, or React Bootstrap.
• Experience with project management software like JIRA, Asana, or Trello.
