What you will do

• Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data to extract insights and build features for ML models.
• Design and implement efficient, reusable machine learning models and systems for various applications.
• Optimize recommendation systems to deliver personalized, relevant user experiences.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to communicate data insights and recommendations.
• Build and fine-tune large language models, transformers, and hybrid AI systems to enhance semantic understanding and relevance.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal (onsite)
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience building large-scale ML systems.
• Experience with large language models, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), or agentic AI.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of distributed training techniques and efficiency at scale (memory, latency, hardware constraints).
