What you will do

• Develop and refine machine learning prediction models to integrate ML capabilities and enhance insights.
• Build and evaluate machine learning models, including sentiment analysis, and improve predictive accuracy.
• Transform and prepare data for modeling using ETL tools and best practices.
• Create and maintain necessary data pipelines and connections between data sources and ML models.
• Collaborate with BI Engineers to connect model outputs to Power BI for dashboards and reporting.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to understand business requirements and align modeling efforts.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of machine learning principles and basic operations research concepts.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; comfortable working with data structures and tools like Jupyter or VSCode.
• Exposure to time series forecasting techniques (e.g., ARIMA, Prophet, XGBoost, LSTM).
• Familiar with model evaluation metrics (e.g., MAE, RMSE, MAPE, R²).
• Experience with version control tools like Git and GitHub.
• Fluent in English (C1), both spoken and written.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid model (at least 2 days per week in the Utrecht office) and be based in the Netherlands.
• Expected to remain enrolled at your university until at least July or August 2026.

Nice to have

• Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially AWS) and tools such as S3 and Athena.
