What you will do

• Architect and lead enterprise-grade performance testing frameworks across distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, and service integrations.
• Design, execute, and interpret performance, load, soak, and stress tests simulating real-world concurrency and traffic.
• Build reusable performance harnesses with tools like JMeter, k6, Gatling, Locust, and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Author and maintain the Performance Testing Runbook covering environment setup, KPIs, and performance sign-off criteria.
• Perform deep-dive bottleneck analysis across network, API, cache, database, and compute layers.
• Collaborate with backend, DevOps, and SRE teams to benchmark capacity, analyze regressions, and validate optimizations.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid in Montreal
• 8+ years experience in performance, load, and scalability testing for large-scale or enterprise systems.
• Advanced proficiency with multiple performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, LoadRunner Enterprise, Locust.
• Expertise in test scripting and automation using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Groovy.
• Deep understanding of distributed architectures including microservices, APIs, message queues, and async processing.
• Proficiency with profiling, APM, and monitoring tools like Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized and cloud-native performance testing (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS Fargate, GCP GKE).
• Familiarity with chaos engineering or resilience testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and API gateway behavior.
• Contributions to open-source or internal performance engineering playbooks or frameworks.
