TL;DR

Firewall Infrastructure Shift Team Member: Supporting and maintaining secure Checkpoint firewall services for an organisation with an accent on operational support, incident response, and implementing changes. Focus on protecting critical services, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to service stability and project delivery.

Location: Hybrid working in Leeds or Manchester, involving spending weekday day shifts at one of our office sites.

Salary: £47,790 – £53,100 plus shift allowance

What you will do

  • Share responsibility for protecting the 1 in 3 people who use our banking systems in the UK.
  • Work within a 24/7 shift pattern to provide robust support for critical services.
  • Monitor and support the bank’s Checkpoint Firewall infrastructure.
  • Assist with the implementation of changes and upgrades to maintain service resilience.
  • Respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues using network monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across IT to resolve service-related issues and contribute to improvements.

Requirements

  • CCSA, CCSE or equivalent experience working with Checkpoint Firewalls required.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident response processes (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a shift environment.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in automation and infrastructure.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
