Location: Remote available within the UK with team onsite days in the Cambridge office approx. 4 times per year

What you will do

• Spearhead the development of performant shaders and visual tools to support high-quality art creation.
• Collaborate with artists to design, build, and maintain tools, processes, and pipelines that improve efficiency and workflow for artists.
• Develop technical solutions using scripting or programming languages within production applications.
• Assist other artists with technical challenges and provide guidance on best practices.
• Profile and optimise the game, shaders, and systems to ensure smooth performance across the project.
• Support the wider Tech Art initiative by identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of shaders and the rendering pipeline, with particular expertise in Unreal Engine’s Material system.
• Good understanding of Blueprints and Unreal workflows.
• A self-motivated, pragmatic individual who takes ownership of their work from start to finish.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and continually improve both technical and artistic skills.
• Ideally, a portfolio showcasing creative, technically innovative work.
