TL;DR

Student Intern - Analog Layout Design (AI): Implementing physical designs for high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits in photonic transceivers and Electronic Integrated Circuits (EICs) with an accent on transistor-level floor planning, routing, and verification. Focus on optimizing layouts to meet performance requirements in advanced CMOS technology processes and developing custom scripts to improve design flows.

Location: Onsite in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 CAD (pro-rated for the internship duration)

What you will do

  • Design high-speed analog and mixed-signal layouts in advanced CMOS technology processes.
  • Perform transistor level floor planning and routing.
  • Verify designs against design rules (DRC) and schematic connectivity (LVS).
  • Collaborate with Analog Circuit Design engineers to optimize layouts for performance.
  • Develop custom scripts to improve tools, flows, and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, or related fields.
  • Solid foundation in CMOS digital electronics.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and oral).
  • Proactive and willing to learn quickly.

Nice to have

  • A solid foundation in analog electronics is a plus.
  • Python and Perl programming experience a plus.
