TL;DR
Creature Programmer (GameDev/AI): Building and optimizing programmatic solutions to make in-game creatures feel unsettlingly alive with an accent on procedural animation, physics, AI, and gameplay programming. Focus on analyzing real animal movement, creating robust Control Rigs, and exploring Unreal's procedural VFX systems to achieve playful responses.
Location: Fully remote, but requires at least 4 hours of overlap with PDT (9am - 6pm) if outside US timezones.

is creating a new game about a field biologist interacting with a wide variety of mundane and fantastical creatures.
What you will do
- Analyze real animal movement and behavior to improve creature liveliness.
- Work with designers on gameplay prototypes, such as building prehensile tongues.
- Create robust Control Rigs responsive to player input.
- Explore Unreal's procedural VFX systems including Grooms and Chaos Flesh.
- Collaborate with character artists and animators on building and polishing creatures.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a professional game developer
- Strong background in C++
- An interest in procedural animation
- Comfortable with vector math and basic physics
Nice to have
- Experience with Unreal
- An interest in science and biology
