Principal Frontend Engineer

TL;DR

Principal Frontend Engineer (Vue/Nuxt): Lead frontend architecture and development of modular, API-first, frontend-heavy applications with an accent on performance, scalability, and AI-enhanced workflows. Focus on designing decoupled systems, driving engineering speed, and coaching senior engineers in a fast-growing ecommerce environment.

Location: Must work onsite from Rotterdam office, available 5 days a week, ideally living within 60 minutes commute

What you will do

• Lead frontend architecture ensuring scalable, aligned, and modular design
• Drive engineering speed by embedding AI-enhanced workflows in sprints
• Maintain consistent delivery cadence focused on commercial outcomes
• Identify and remove bottlenecks to increase team flow
• Champion decoupling and headless frontend architectures
• Coach and lead senior engineers across borders and time zones

Requirements

• Must be based in or near Rotterdam with ability to work onsite full-time
• Strong expertise in Vue.js and Nuxt frameworks
• Experience leading frontend architecture and modular, API-first systems
• Focus on frontend performance and mobile speed
• Ability to coach senior engineers and lead cross-border teams
• Fluent English required

Nice to have

• Experience in ecommerce or high-growth tech environments
• Hands-on experience transitioning from monolithic to headless architectures
