Location: Remote within Switzerland. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Switzerland. Visa or work-permit sponsorship is not available for this role. Optional relocation support to the United States may be available for eligible candidates in the future.

What you will do

• Research and apply ML ideas to achieve state-of-the-art results in speech modeling (STT & TTS).
• Design, build, optimize, and deploy production ML systems used by thousands of developers.
• Solve complex research and engineering problems in speech modeling for next-generation AI software.
• Address challenges in data collection, efficient training infrastructure, and RL alignment environments.
• Optimize for ultra-low latency inference in real-time conversational AI applications.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant technical field, or BA/BS degree with equivalent research/engineering experience.
• 5+ years of combined experience in software development (Python or C++) and applied ML engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in Machine Learning in speech/video processing, NLP, or action planning.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and neural network architectures.
• Proficiency with ML frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Passion for learning and staying up-to-date with ML/Voice AI research.
• Familiarity with pre-training, fine-tuning, RLHF, and evaluation of large language and speech models.
• Knowledge of working with embedded systems and/or running ML on edge devices.
• Strong background in mathematics and/or physics.
