What you will do

• Maintain, debug, and enhance a large PHP 7.4 codebase using PSR-4 autoloading and no framework.
• Investigate issues and trace logic through legacy and inconsistently structured code.
• Work closely with business teams, analysts, and other developers to fill documentation gaps.
• Execute and test application logic via cron jobs, Camunda workflows, and PHP CLI scripts.
• Perform root-cause analysis on system issues and provide stable, reliable fixes.
• Collaborate with team leads to gradually improve code quality and reduce technical debt.
• Review logs, analyze system behavior, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• 4+ years of PHP development experience (PHP 7.x preferred).
• Strong understanding of PSR-4, autoloading, and general PHP project structure.
• Comfort working with legacy code, procedural patterns, and mixed-style coding conventions.
• Solid debugging skills and the ability to trace issues across large codebases.
• Ability to read and understand code in other languages (especially Java) for workflow tracing.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, including SSH access, basic shell commands, and running PHP scripts via CLI.

Nice to have

• Experience with Camunda BPM or other workflow engines.
• Hands-on experience with cron job scheduling and automation.
