What you will do

• Build and operate reliable, performant backend and data platform services that support continuous ingestion and use of multi-modal training data.
• Identify and implement opportunities to accelerate data generation, validation, and usage across training and evaluation workflows.
• Partner closely with Human Feedback, Data Generation, Product Engineering, and Research teams to evolve and scale the data platform.
• Own projects end to end, from technical design and implementation through deployment, observability, and long-term maintainability.
• Write clear technical documentation and communicate design decisions and tradeoffs to stakeholders across multiple teams.
• Raise the team’s technical aptitude through thoughtful code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building production software in TypeScript and/or Python.
• US work authorization required.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up.
• Experience building and operating services in cloud environments.
• Experience making architectural tradeoffs in long-lived systems with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience designing and shipping complex, high-impact software systems, ideally developer-facing platforms or tools.
