Frontend Engineer (React)

TL;DR

Frontend Engineer (React/TypeScript): Building and optimizing user-focused features for a browser-based banking application with an accent on maintaining shared tooling, Design System, and build pipelines. Focus on crafting solid, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage and elevating design for delightful, accessible interfaces.

Location: Hybrid (UK) - must be within commutable distance of a hirify.global office (London, Southampton, Cardiff, or Manchester) and attend office a minimum of 1 day per week.

What you will do

• Create user-focused features that leverage the web platform.
• Maintain and improve shared tooling, Design System, and build pipelines.
• Deliver maintainable, high-quality software with a focus on comprehensive test coverage and daily deployments.
• Work closely with designers to build delightful, accessible interfaces.
• Support peers through code reviews and open technical discussions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial web frontend experience.
• Strong skills in web programming fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JS) and API integration (REST/HTTP).
• Some experience with Typescript.
• Familiarity with React or similar modern component-based web frameworks.
• A solid grasp of testing best practices (Unit, Integration, E2E).
• The ability to own a project from concept to delivery.

Nice to have

• A keen eye for Design.
• Backend JS/TS experience.
• Knowledge of web accessibility principles.
• Experience in website infrastructure including cloud service and Terraform.
