Game Writer Intern (Game Design): Participating in the development of AAA game narratives, including writing character dialogue, in-game descriptions, and narrative assets with an accent on learning industry-standard tools and workflows. Focus on supporting narrative designers, acquiring skills in Unreal Engine, and contributing to active game projects.

Location: Hybrid in San Carlos, CA. Must have legal eligibility to work in the United States and be able to work onsite in San Carlos, CA for the first 1-2 weeks for onboarding.

Salary: $21-25 per hour, plus a stipend.

What you will do

• Participate in various aspects of game development, including writing small narrative content like character dialogue, in-game descriptions, and bios.
• Acquire essential skills using industry-standard tools and software such such as Unreal Engine, Confluence, and Final Draft.
• Support mid, senior, and lead narrative designers by participating in writer’s rooms and brainstorming sessions.
• Gain expertise in narrative documentation, organizing story references, and updating writing materials.

Requirements

• Enrolled as a college Junior or Senior (graduating Fall/Winter 2025 or Spring 2026).
• Pursuing a degree in Game Development, Game Design, English, Creative Writing, or related fields.
• Availability to work full-time (40 hrs/week) from June 1st – August 21st, 2026.
• Able to work onsite at San Carlos, CA for the first 1-2 weeks for onboarding.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
