Backend Engineer (Kotlin)

Backend Engineer (Kotlin): Responsible for improving and developing web-based clients and RESTful web services for an internal communications platform with an accent on high-quality code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. Focus on working in a cross-functional scrum team, giving and receiving valuable feedback in code reviews, and taking ownership of work.

Location: Dresden, Germany. Hybrid work is available.

What you will do

• Improve and develop web-based clients, including native apps, and RESTful web services.
• Work in a cross-functional scrum team and produce high-quality and tested code.
• Provide and receive valuable feedback in code reviews and continuously learn and share knowledge with peers.
• Take ownership of topics, ranging from features to the quality of work and the environment.
• Work iteratively, frequently pushing code, ensuring a good CI/CD pipeline, and automating where possible.

Requirements

• Experience working as a Backend Engineer.
• Must have experience in Java/Kotlin.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Good English communication skills.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding and appreciative diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.

Nice to have

• Experience with MongoDB, Terraform, Docker.
• Understanding of REST and Microservices.
• Passionate for Test Driven Development.
