What you will do

• Define the long-term technical vision for the Android platform aligned with business and product goals.
• Architect secure, scalable, and performant Android applications optimized for immersive user interaction.
• Establish and uphold engineering standards including best practices, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to enhance user experience.
• Lead architectural decisions, design reviews, and influence mobile development practices and tools.
• Support team growth by defining technical profiles, participating in recruitment, and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Melbourne, Australia for onsite work
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Mobile Software Engineering with focus on scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Android platform development.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and Android lifecycle management.
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication for cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale mobile applications.
• Knowledge of custom components, video players, animations, and continuous integration.
• Experience debugging production applications and managing incidents.
